Family details: Married to Rosemary, Four Children and Three Grand children

Work History, mention highlights (100 words max written in Who's Who style):

With a surname like Selkirk it is not difficult to guess where Iain has worked for the past 40 years. But now, the Selkirk Bricks and Paver Group of Companies Manufacturing Director has decided it is time to retire from active duty.

Iain “officially” started work in the family company in 1967 when he was 21 years old.
Over the years things have changed from the production process being manual, and on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to production that is still 24/7 but it is now fully automated and mostly unattended.

Interests outside work: So what now for Iain Selkirk? Well he is going to spend time doing other things he loves such as automotive, skiing, travel, photography and building projects ... oh, and the occasional peek over the fence!

Work History, mention highlights (100 words max written in Who's Who style): My intermittent and hence extended studies were funded by stints as an analyst with King Island Scheelite (1947) ltd.; The Tasmanian Department of Mines; Groote Eylandt Mining Co.; Titanium and Zirconium Industries; Cobar Mines; Mount Morgan Mine; Amcast Engineering; and WMC Kambalda Nickel. An additional trickle of cash was derived from performing in the band that tolerated me for (too) many years.

The last thirty five years have been spent within Victoria (apart from the occasional reconnaissance sortie in the Northern Hemisphere) with some excellent people at Extruded Metals; Patience and Nicholson; Amcast Engineering; Simsmetal Aluminium Smelter; and Thompsons, Kelly and Lewis.

I am now assisting my Kelpie on her daily and most mysterious adventures and writing about Life and Lesser Perils.

Interests outside work: Greatly enjoying my belated Dad Duties; cycling in baggy trousers; bushwalking with a day-pack; playing social bocce with life-long friends; and compulsively taking photographs. I am also on a few committees hopefully giving back a bit from whence it came.
